Not delivering what I expected - does this really work?

I have been using Netflix now for about two months with not a single issue. Decided to subscribe to Showmax as well for the bit of difference they offer.

What an absolute mistake. Quick to take your money, but when I attempted to view a couple of series, just simply did not want to download them displaying some sort of error. Went on to a third which started to play, but became pixelated every now and then. You know how disturbing this is on the eyes. And then, all of a sudden exited from Showmax app on TV without warning. Battled to get anything going again, so decided to 'Live Chat' with one of there support team.

To cut a long story short, eventually cut off from first support person, and then onto another, and, as you can well imagine, they attempted to first blame my connection speed, then walls between TV and router and made reference to Showmax resolution being different to that of Netflix and YouTube. This 'Live Chat' wasted about three and a half hours of my evening, with hit and miss attempts to sort out the situation.

Okay, let's take these one at a time. Proved speed not an issue by providing Speedtest.net results in form of screenshot. Then explained that router was in line of sight with TV, in same room, and not more than 5 metres away. Finally, explained that I received FullHD streaming from Netflix, and two different families watched on two different tv's in two separate buildings, at the same time without any problems.

I believe that it is either the app (too resource hungry), or their equipment (not capable enough). They can attempt to blame everything else all they want, but I am well versed in IT hardware and software, and know all the deflection techniques.

As I signed up today, and was unable to receive a good and continuous service, all I want is a refund. This they tell me they cannot give because the service has been used. Fine I am willing to pay pro-rata for what I have used. So, go ahead, take off an hour or two from the total in a month. All I ask is to just be fair. If you cannot supply what you advertise, and what I am expecting, then refund me, don't be dishonest and say we have to keep your money because you used a fraction of a percentage for the month. Disgraceful.

So do the honest thing and refund me.

Be certain everyone that Showmax can deliver what you expect.

Hi pak05696,

That's not what we like to hear.

We're going to investigate it on this side and get back to you when we get to the bottom of it.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.
