Check your statements... showmax takes money off your account for random strangers

Check your subscription with Showmax. My bank notifications only come through for transactions that are more than a R100. Showmax subscription is under that limit, which means that since I signed up Showmax has been debiting my account twice a month for R99 not once a month. I raised this issue and support rep**** that there is another subscription that is coming off my account for some random stranger. I was asked if I knew in two emails, both times I rep**** that no, this is a random stranger. Now support has sent me an email to tell me that my bank details have been removed and the subscription cancelled. No accountability, no explanation.

One of two scenarios: 1. There is a massive flaw/***** in Showmax that enables them to debit an account without permission, as I did not receive any form of notification or authorization that I am paying for a random stranger 2. Someone is using my bank detail, but yet again I did not receive an authorization code and that again implies there is a massive flaw in the Showmax system

I have requested the details of the random person whose subscription I have been paying so that I can report, this to the police and to my bank. Lets see if Showmax responds
