********ly Detained at Shoprite Esselen

On the 26th of November 2021 around 17:40 i went to your store in sunnyside Pretoria to do some shopping. As i was busy shopping with my 1 year 5 months old baby who was in s stroller, i headed to the baby section to get diapers and check what else was on special, i then headed to the purity section to get my daughter some snack as she was fussy. I proceeded to give my daughter a pouch of purity to snack as i was doing my shopping.

So we left the baby section and continued with the shopping. As we were busy shopping my one year 5 months old dropped the pouch as i believe it wad now finished, as the store was full and i as the parent was busy selecting my goods i did not SEE the pouch j falling as she was in her stroller. But your employee (security personnel) saw it falling as HE WAS FALLING ME,OF WHICH I FIND VERY VERY DISTURBING TO DO. He then did not notify me as he saw it falling and saw that i was not aware.

I got to the till after a long time of going around the store and shopping, i paid for EVERYTHING THAT WAS IN MY TROLLEY then headed to the door with my daughter. When i got to the door, 3 SECURITY PERSONNEL asked me to follow them, i was shocked and surprised as to why am i following them. I compelled and followed them, they then took me to the back of the store where its cold, dirty and filthy. They told me that my daughter ate purity and dropped the pouched whiled we were shopping, why didnt i pay for the DROPPED POUCH! i asked them these 1. that did I see it falling? 2. Was i the one who threw it away? 3. Was i the one who ate and threw the pouch away? 4. When HE WAS FOLLOWING ME why did he not pick it up and give it to me ad he saw that the baby is the one who threw it and i did not ser that? 5. I asked why was i detained?, 6. Is that how they treat their customers?

They kept us at the back in a very cold weather for an hour+ till i called my husband to come help us.

I felt that my rights and that of my daughter were violated and i was humiliated as your loyal customer. I ask that this matter be looked at. I would appreciate your swift response in this regard before i take this to social media and notify the community on how shopping at shoprite is a very dangerous thing to do when you have a baby, as they are always targeting their customers and looking for a way to embarrass and harass them.
