TODAY I FEEL DISGUSTED AND VIOLATED BY THE ACTIONS OF YOUR SECURITY PERSONELL. I WENT TO THE GOLDEN ACRE BOUGHT SOME STUFF AND WENT TO GAME AS I LIKE TO COMPARE PRICES. I HAD TO MAKE A URGENT CALL AND WENT BACK INTO SHOPRITE TO GET AIRTIME AND LEFT ONLY TO REALISE I FORGOT SOMETHING SO I RETURNED FOR A THIRD TIME. THE SECURITY TAPED MY BAG AND I WENT TO GET WHAT I NEEDED AND \PAID"FOR IT.ON MY WAY OUT I WAS CONFRONTED BY 2 SECURITIES WHO DIRECTED ME TO A ROOM BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO SEARCH ME.I OBLIGED"

12 May 2015, 13:39Hello murdockmopp,
Thank you for taking the time to contact the Shoprite supermarket chain.
We are sorry to hear that you felt offended by our security procedures and would like to assure you that it is not aimed at you personally. The Shoprite chain has, like all retailers, an obligation to stop financial losses incurred through crime such as shoplifting, through various means such as verifying purchases at the exit. This also allows our stores to stem losses through short scanning by cashiers where certain items may not have been rung up.
We apologise for any affront caused to you by this and for the manner in which you were treated by the contracted security personnel. In the interest of good customer service, the details of your experience will be brought to the attention of Divisional Management for investigation. One of our management representatives will be in contact with you.
In conclusion I would like to thank you for the time and effort you have taken to provide us with this valuable feedback.
Kind regards
Devon Currie
