UNFAIR ANSWER WHEN RETURNING STOVE

I bought a 2 burner stove on 01/08/2020 at Shoprite Rustenburg 7141 for R199.99. yesterday one plate had sparkles of fire and it stopped working, i then went there to return it as it still has warranty the manager named Frank (if i heard right) said it is too damaged and he assumed that im returning the stove for the second time( i wasn't). In all, they refused to take the stove...is it my fault that the plate does not work? Because i believe the stove should last for a year or so, not 5 months i was suppose to get a new one. I could not argue or ask further because they did not want to listen to xhosa speaking people they just tell you we cannot help which is poor service.
