I was allegedly ****** at Ennerdale Shoprite a few hours ago. I was at the till when one lady on my left put her hand in my sling bag and another lady on my right pushed me towards my left. When I got to the till and my items were tal**** and I was about to pay, its then I realized my bag was open and the money I specifically remembered counting and putting in my bag, was gone.
The cashier named Brandon nicely apologized and closed the till to discontinue further transactions. The cashier called the security, who later called the manager named Cyril. They both vaguely listened to my story did not empathize or allow me to view the CCTV footage until I opened a ******** case. I immediately went to SAPS and relayed the incident.
R210 was ****** from me in their premises, it may be nothing for the million dollar franchise, but it’s a hell-of-alot for an unemployed person like myself.
I had a similar experience at Woolworths, I was quietly taken to their security office, viewed the CCTV, when it showed I was ****** I was awarded a R250 shopping voucher on the spot, without any hassles like I am experiencing now with Shoprite.
As much as they say Right of Admission is Resevered, Enter at Your Own Risk, The Outlet May Not Be Held Responsible for Lost or ****** Personal Items...Some sort of protection and security should be visible for customers and their goods inside their stores patrolling the isles like other stores do.
I've often wondered why Shoprite stores in up market areas close, it’s because of their poor business practices. They prey on poor and vulnerable people.
If I do not hear from you, you will certainly hear from me and you have lost a customer along with her friends and family!
