TERRIBLE SERVICE SHOPRITE ESTCOURT

Wow!! Shoprite Estcourt. Shoprite Estcourt. So I walked in today in a hurry to buy fish fingers. After waiting to pay for like 10 minutes. The cashier told me, he won't be able to sell me those fish fingers coz I don't have a Shoprite card. So I left. I want to know if it's a force that we must have those Shoprite cards? If so, then why is there no big notice at the door saying 'We are forcing customers to take loyalty cards' or whatever their called.
