Sub-standard service rendered
Hello, I write with great disappointment. I visited KwaMhlanga shoprite yesterday afternoon to buy some groceries and I came across reduced shelf labeled R30, R50 and R100. A friend of mine was also on that shelf I therefore had an interest on few items. I pick 4 of the items amounting to R200. Then I continued with my grocery and my friend joined me. I was happy until I approached the cashier for payment. I unpacked everything on the trolley then gave the cashier the reduced items to further check if the price we saw there is as is. Two of the items were fine except for the other two were not reduced. The cashier by the name of Lindiwe Dube asked that I go check the barcode for the items not reduced and I was surprised however I told her you sending me as your client to check for you something that should have been updated already and she apologized however insisted that I should double check it. I went and still came back with the same answer. She then call for her supervisor or manager by the name of Sponono Mahlangu. I was never disrespected the way that woman did. As if she is doing me a favor. She started modeling heading the direction of the shelf then came back with the same mode now calling apparently the owner or rather the person in charge of the reduced item. I was so irritated with her respond to this whole matter. I asked her what is she doing because I have been waiting for service for some time and not getting any joy. Since she didn't bother to even update me on exactly what she is doing to further assist me. I asked her is it OK for them to offer customers such sub-standard service and she answered by saying "yes " not even sure she understood what I meant as she was so full of herself and further said" "yah sisi no no no can't you see that I am trying to help you, no no man"as if she is doing me a favor and she left to the office. I told the cashier to cancel the items and she said" no I didn't add them I just checked the price for you". Well the other trainee manager came to apologize on her colleagues behalf as she witnessed this from start to finish and my take she understood the image her colleague is portraying for the company. I paid my groceries for the amount of R1700 however I would like to stress the way am disgusted by the so called manager /supervisor Sponono Mahlangu who's supposed to lead by example instead of assuming she is the in thing. I refuse to be treated as a piece of trash while spending my money. Shoprite is huge company for the to bring their ego to work.
