The minute Shoprite starts promoting their so-called ‘Xtra Savings’ card their prices go up. For example potatoes which had already gone up in the last 6 months by 20% now have gone up by another 25%. Why? The money has to come from somewhere to pay back some of the so-called ‘xtra savings’! Also now that they have got a personal record of what you spend they can monitor resistance to price increases and even charge you more. Any idiot knows how algorithms work. Don’t be fooled, you never get anything for nothing.
