Shoprite ripping people off

Since the beginning of December, Shoprite had a 50% increase on their 5kg PetShop cat litter. Starting price 1 Dec was R16.99, one week later it went up to R18.99 and the following week R26.99. After numerous attempts to get an answer regarding this price hike, I have yet to be contacted by Shoprite.
