Shoprite R2000 Gift Card ****

I want to report a very clever **** that is using the Shoprite name and brand, offering a R2000 gift card. It comes as a message from one of your WhatsApp contacts stating the following, "I got my Shoprite R2000 Gift Card from here, http://snip.li/42390. Get yours too while it's still available!" I was drawn to test the validity of this as I was of the intention to share this with people who needed it. Upon clicking the link, you land at the red background page with the Shoprite logo and what seemed to be legitimate survey questions, like, "are you a regular customer, etc. the usual yes-no questions. Once you have completed answering the 3 questions, it then shows a message stating that there are 120 vouchers available and 1 is being reserved for you. New instructions now appear asking you to share this with 10 people and then to click the "continue" button to enter your details so that voucher can be sent to you. You are also instructed to allow all pop-ups from the site. You proceed to share it with 10 people, i.e. sending the abovementioned message to 10 people in your WhatsApp contacts, which they track. once you have completed this c****, you proceed to click "continue". Upon doing that you are redirected to Mobile service sites prompting you to sign up to useless services that cost you R6p/d. You go back to the last page and try again and it just loops you back to the same page for you sign up for this annoying service. I am very embarrassed to have shared this with people who really needed this and am ashamed at being so naïve as to think such an offer could actually exist. There are many disappointed and desperate people out there who have tried this and discovered only too late that it's a ****. I think that Shoprite should take immediate steps to ensure that those responsible are dealt with publicly and that some form of apology and compensation be given to those affected, especially those in need.
