Shoprite Lansdowne corner circulating expired stock
I went to Shoprite lansdowne corner on 24th January 2020. I wanted to purchase oral wise breath strips but saw it had expired 24 Oct 2019. I called the manager and showed him the expired stock but he wasn't too interested. I returned to the same store on the 27th January 2020 and to my surprise the expired stock was still on the shelve waiting to be sold... at this point i purchased one to prove to their head office that they indeed circulate expired stock. I lodge a complaint on the 28th with their head office and they got the store manager to call me. She called me and apologised, later that day i stopped by at the store to touched base with her, again she apologised which was all good and well but not once did she say please bring back the expired stock so that she can refund me. Morina was indeed very courteous but i think lack a lot of s**** to manage such a big store. I doubt that there in any First in First out process in place. Is stocktake really being done in accordance to shoprite policies and procedures, if this was the case then no expired goods would be circulating on the shelves. I urge customers to be very careful when choosing to shoprite, I know shoprite is cheaper but is it worth risking your health. Rather go to a more reputable grocery store like PNP or SPAR and pay the little more but have peace of mind that you are not at risk of purchasing expired goods and putting yourself and your family's health at risk. I just thought that this candid review would be good for customers to read and to know how shoprite operate.
