Shoprite INJURES SHOPPERS
About 3 months back, I purchased a BUSH BABY camping stool from Shoprite in STRAND.
The next day, as I sat on this stool, it broke and collapsed. I took this faulty stool back to Shoprite, and insisted on a refund. Only after some hefty arguing was I issued a refund.
About a week later, I saw that the SAME, BROKEN CHAIR, HAD BEEN PUT BACK ON THE SHELF BY SHOPRITE STAFF.
THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE, AND A COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR THE SAFETY OF A CUSTOMER WHO MAY SUBSEQUENTLY and inadvertently and unknowingly BUY THIS FAULTY/BROKEN SMALL CHAIR/STOOL.
About 3 weeks back, I purchased another BUSH BABY Camping Stool from Shoprite Strand. The bar code is ***.
Last night, at approximately 11pm, I sat on this Camping Stool.
This Camping Stool suddenly gave way and completely collapsed.
During this event, I was very badly injured. A very sharp ***** ripped into my flesh just beneath the ******* area, causing severe bleeding. My back was also hurt badly from the fall onto a very hard tile floor. My injuries was bad, but it could have been much worse.
My wife, who is a professional nurse, took pictures of my injuries, of the pool of blood lying on the floor, and promptly effected first aid to stop the bleeding, and also apply a warm compress to my very painful back.
Shoprite knowingly sold me a defective piece of equipment that could have resulted in my death.
I am now considering all of my options, which includes the laying of ******** charges at Strand Police Station, and contacting my lawyers at Webber Wentzel in Cape Town, with the view to pursuing a civil lawsuit against Shoprite Checkers.
Shoprite has shown a COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR THE SAFETY OF THEIR CLIENTS, AND AN ************ LACK OF INTEGRITY BY KNOWINGLY SELLING FAULTY GOODS TO CUSTOMERS, THAT CAN SERIOUSLY INJURE OR **** THEM.
