Shoprite Expired Snacks made my daughter sick

Bought 3 packets of snacks from Shoprite Evaton Mall in March this year. When i got home my kids like they always do started eating the snacks. After 30 minutes my kids developed a high temparature and running stomarch but i didnt know what the cause was. It was only on the last packet that i saw that the snacks had actually expired in January this year but they were still on the shelves in March. I then took my daughter to the doctor because she was still complaining about a sore stomarch to have her checked then notified Shoprite of the incident. The store manager said i should come through to collect the R27 that i used to purchase the snacks. No remorse whats so ever from them then i escalated to their head office whom to date are still giving me the run around regarding compensation. I have sent them the doctors notes as well as the costs involved and they are saying that they don't want to cripple their funds. They say they can only compensate for the doctor's consultation of R600 and that they are not compensating for transport etc!!! Now they want me to take my daughter to the doctor with my own money then send them the doctor's note again. This business is playing delaying tactics with me instead of doing the right thing by compensating for the medical costs and my daughters pain and suffering. Lizelle from their claims departments keeps promising that she will authorize payment but to date nothing is happening. I am asking myself what could have happend had my kids died because of the expired snacks would i still be treated like this!!! Right now i wish i had a very good lawyer because we customers are just good enough to bring in the money to Shoprite but when tables are turned Shoprite doesn't want to lose a cent
