Shoprite Customer Care is usless
A cashier at Katlehong Mini in Katlehong. Nontobeko Engel Zulu thinks Shoprite is her fathers house
I am writing to formally escalate a complaint regarding unacceptable conduct and a serious cash-handling concern at Shoprite Mini, Katlehong – Gamaphutheng Shopping Centre, which occurred today.
Please note that I have attached my receipt as evidence for reference. The cashier who assisted me was rude and dismissive.
When I requested kiwi polish, which was not displayed on the shelf due to security reasons, she responded in an inappropriate and confrontational manner, speaking to me in isiZulu and questioning whether I was “ngiyayifuna” or “ngiyayicela.” This was unnecessary, disrespectful, and unprofessional.
The cashier was not wearing a name tag. When asked to identify herself, she stated her name was Sne. However, the receipt I will post on X will reflect the name “Nontobeko,” which raises concerns regarding transparency and accountability.
More seriously, upon reviewing my transaction, I discovered that my money was not handled correctly at the till. She was supposed to give me a cashback of R150 which she refused give me and insisted that I took
Given the evidence provided on the receipt, I request that this transaction be urgently investigated.
This is not the first incident involving this cashier. I have previously experienced similar disrespectful behaviour and have deliberately tried to avoid her. Unfortunately, today only two tills were operating, leaving me with no alternative.
I expect:
1. A formal investigation into the cashier’s conduct and the transaction.
2. Written feedback on the outcome.
3. Assurance that corrective measures will be taken to prevent recurrence.
Incidents of this nature undermine customer trust and reflect poorly on the Shoprite brand. Please address this matter urgently to avoid further escalation.
