Shoprite Aliwal North service vs Pick n Pay Aliwal North service

On the 31st December 2024 I entered Shoprite Aliwal North just before 11am to buy 3 items, (nappies, Nutrific and cigarettes), I ended up leaving the store at 12:10. The store was full but out of the 14 till points only 6 were being manned. The ques were extending to the isles, most of the people had full trollies. I took the kiosk que which was also full of people, it extended to the entrance and then broke off and started near the last till point and yet there was only one till point out 2 that was operational. I recognised 2 cashies who were working as packers when they could've manned some tills to assist already angry and irritated customers. There were some employees and supervisors who were standing idly around the kiosk and chatting away with no sense of urgency like they were on holiday. Some of the irritated customer requested another till to be opened which was done, but only one till made very little difference. I normally get a bad experience at Shoprite Aliwal North but this one was so bad I had to write about it. My next stop was Pick n Pay Aliwal North. When I walked in the store was full but the difference is that out of the 13 till points 12 were being manned. I even recognised 3 supervisors who had their own till points and assisting customers, the ques were flowing smoothly and I was in and out in minutes. Pick n Pay Aliwal North deserves praise for this.
