Shop right, not Shoprite.
I saw a special of the Duck toilet cleaner on Facebook which was selling for R8 but specifically for the Forest Fresh variant and subsequently asked a friend who was already in town to go check if it’s there. She found it. I then went to my local shoprite (Southfield)to buy for myself. I took 10 from the shelf and when I wanted to pay for it I was told by the cashier that it is not on special at this branch. I asked for the supervisor and as I went to the supervisors office the lady assisted me asked if the supervisor lady named Alison knew anything about this special. Alison gave me the rudest look ever and asked if I am crazy to think Duck can be R8. I then left the store and immediately logged a complaint with a Shoprite Head Office. Spoke to Catura. She said she would get back to me the following week as buyers don’t work during the weekend. She indeed got back to me in the week and told me their buyers said it was the fizzy lemon or lime variant that was on special. I told her that’s not true and that it was the forest fresh variant. When she got back to me I was in a pick n pay supermarket so I specifically went to the aisle to confirm the name of the variant. She said she would have to call back after confirming with the buyers. During this whole period I was also asked to provide proof of my assertions. I then had to call a friend to send me their toll slips which were by now a week old. Luckily I found and sent through via WhatsApp and email as requested. This time I got a called from roschelle (I think) who told me that this special was limited to 3 items per customer which I also told her is not true as the slip I had sent had more than 3 items sold to the same customer. Again Catura called and told me what Roschelle had told us not correct and she was confused. This was now a week ago and now it’s 13 days since the incident of the rude supervisor named Alison has been reported and I still have no resolve from Shoprite. All Catura said was that she apologizes and that’ there’s nothing she can do.
