Sale of rotten \fresh cornish hens\""

I bought a Fresh Cornish chicken yesterday. I asked the assistant if it was good and she pointed rudely to the sell by date. I took it home unwrapped it and discovered the chicken was rotten. It smelled really badly too. I immediately called the store. The butcher manager was unavailable so i left my details and he didnt contact me to date. The meat and poultry are of an unusual color because they are not stored in the correct temperature. i went back to the store today and those rotting chickens are still on the shelf. I spoke to some shoppers buying the meat/chicken and they say that they know its not good but its cheaper and its all they can afford. Is this the strategy used by Shoprite? Sell spoilt stuff at a cheaper price? Disgusting. Peoples lives are being put to risk here. I am utterly disgusted by this and the attitude if the staff when i pointed out the rotten chickens. God help people who shop at Shoprite Chatsworth.
