Rude security guards
On the 17th November 2019 at around 15h30, I went to Shoprite Masingita mall, Giyani. I was assisted by a friendly cashier (Vongani Ngobeni)at the till, who was very friendly towards everyone. The security guards at the door found that the pack of ice that I have bought failed to scan. I was about to take money out of my wallet so that I can pay for the ice pack but the security guard instructed me to push the whole trolley back to the cashier who assisted me, which I found to be a bit embarrassing as everyone was watching me as if I was trying to shoplift.at the till the security guard rudely asked the cashier who was busy assisting other customers; why she gave me the ice without me paying, the cashier politely tried to explain but the security guard wrote down her name and employee number on a piece of paper, I asked if she is in trouble and I was told yes because she gave me the ice for free. I was then taken to the till at the kiosk to pay for the ice, I asked the security guard why I was taken to that other till first, he told me that he does not understand my language; Xitsonga. I complained that it was unnecessary for me to be paraded in front of the shop before I was assisted. The ice pack still failed to scan for several times at the other till. I think the treatment and process followed by the security guards was unnecessary and uncalled for, it was just plain humiliation.
