RUDE CASHIERS AND SECURITY GUARDS RUNNING SHOPRITE ON SUNDAY 08/11/2020

I would like to share my horrible experience. Firstly I want to state that I am pregnant woman who made a huge mistake stepping in Shoprite SOUTHGATE Value mall on Sunday 08/11/2020.

My nightmare started after filling up my basket, and heading to the cigarette counter (which was operating) to pay as the queues were long, as usual. I explained to the 1st cashier I'm pregnant and couldn't join the queues, reluctant to assist she made me wait, after complaining why she wasn't assisting me she uttered: 'You're pregnant not sick surely you can join the queue' which I refused, after a while she referred to another cashier who had a similar attitude only worst.

THANDOKAZI BAFONDINI had no interest to help either. After I paid she threw the plastic at me, told me I had to pack my groceries myself, as her 'till' did not pack groceries (I had less than15 items). As I walked away I overheard her tell her colleagues that this is not Sandton incase I wasn't aware.

Disgusted with the service I just received I asked for a supervisor and was referred to CYNTHIA. After explaining to her what I just went threw, she called out to the manager Mr Nkomonde.

Before he could come, a male security guard approached Cynthia to brief her and directed as to how she should deal with the matter, after Cynthia took instruction from the security guard on how to protect the rude cashiers.

Cynthia came back to me and told me the manager was (all a sudden) unavailable and couldn't come help me. In shock at what I was witnessing I asked for a complaints line and she gave me: ***, which is the stores number???

I have written to Shoprite directly and was promised a response within 48 hours and no one was bothered to get back to me.

The service in Shoprite is beyond disgusting and the cashiers are being protect. Hence the service we get from these female cashiers who feel they mistreat and insult customers, the very people who help pay their salaries. The bad attitude is being enabled as the managers protect them instead of us the customers.
