Religious beliefs violated by negligence

<p>On Thursday , May 19 , my family and myself went to shoprite Newlands in Durban and purchased 4 pies for lunch ,it was R9.99 each .I asked the person serving an Indian gentleman for chicken and mushroom pies, he gives me 4 pies with the lable chicken and mushroom on the pies, I purchased it and my family began to eat it, we all took a bite and cosumed a piece only to find out that all 4 pies was steak and kidney pies, I was furious as I was a Hindu and it was against my religion and custom and its deemed a sin to eat beef. I went back to the store again and spoke to a manager abt why shoprite a major store has no regard for peoples religions and beliefs, he called the indian gentlman who served us and he said he was also a hindhu and said he also does not eat beef as it was against his religion and customs as well, he said someone mixed up the pies in the warmer. ( should the customer suffer for this) This store is situated around a major Indian community, the manager replaced the pies and I took it as my children were hungry but felt disgusted and sick for breaking my vows and my religion. My wife and daughter vomited after eating it, and my wife is still feeling sick after thinking about what she eat. I am 40 years old and for all this time my family and myself have remained true and pure to my religion, beliefs & customs and Shoprite has violated everything we were brought up believing. Shoprite has no regard or respect for peoples religion and customs. My family feels heart broken and sad after this incident. </p>
