rats !!!!

before i rant on the negative side - i have to add that the prices are still very competitive to other retail outlets BUT ... the butterworth stores both have cleanliness issues - 90% of the paper packaging items are eaten through by rats and you never see any pest control happening in the store (you literally can see the droppings on the shelf next to the items as well as the eaten away pieces of packaging - and the smell of rats is potent when you walk into the stores - yes both stores have the same problem). My kids actually commented the other day that when you try take an item off the shelf its going to be a battle of the rats starting to pull the stock back ;-)

when you go to any of the 3 spar stores you dont see any evidence of a rat infestation and you can visibly see the pest control equipment around the stores. Please shoprite, start implementing some cleanliness and hygiene in your stores as this is becoming a bit much now.

then also, is it going to break the bank so much to have a "trolley/basket" collector in the stores to move all the disposed of trolleys and baskets back to the front of the store, at times you have to move away 5 or 6 trolleys and countless baskets out the way just to get to a till point.

and while we are on the ranting aspect, do something about the staff, maybe just a hello from them would already be an improvement, and the constant conversation between 2 or 3 cashiers chatting with over the customers to the cashier at the tills either side of you is a complete turn off You never see this at other stores - this is only a Shoprite thing
