R5 coins rejected at Shoprite Protea Glen Mall

Good day, I went to Shoprite Protea Glen Mall today to buy my child stationery using R5 coins that I save during the year for the exact reason and the teller took them but saying that when he goes in to cash out his float it's going to be a problem because they don't want R5 coins. Another teller said that yesterday, R5 coins from her float was rejected and she had to go outside to change it. I'm very disappointed with this because I buy my stationery annually at Shoprite using R5 coins. I'm also very shocked at how the lives of tellers are put in jeopardy with them having to go and sort change for them to be able to cash out their float. The look on the poor teller's face was actually fear more than anything. Can this be addressed with the store. If Shoprite does not take R5 coins anymore, they should put notices outside their stores so that we know not to buy stationery there anymore. Regards,
