PROTEA GLEN MALL SHOPRITE IN SOWETO LOCKED AN ELDERLY WOMAN WITHOUT INFORMING POLICE AND HER FAMILY MEMBERS.

This is with regards to the Protea Glen mall branch in Soweto, where an elderly woman called Meriem (pensioner) was locked up in a room for hours because she hadnt paid sanitary pads when she was paying the stuff she was buying, when she told them she hadnt realised that, the security (Nkateko) didnt take her word, even though she had money on her to pay the item.

the police never arrived to take her statement and the manager (Gladia) says she was informed later about the incident, all they did was lock the lady up and take pictures, she had groceries that she had purchased which she could have ****** if she was a *****.

The argument is why didn't they call the police, or her family member since she is an elderly, and how is it that they released her when a lady that knows her started inquiring and recording the whole thing.

When the manager was called she said she wouldn't ask the elderly woman questions because they never ask older people too many questions since it looks disrespectful.

This doesnt sound like a fair treatment.
