Prejudice behaviour and treatment

on the 8th of February 2017, me and my fiance went grocery shopping at Shorprite Checkers Southgate. As per the norm we walk around in isles picking what we want.

And finaly we get to the teller and pay for the grocery. As usual you get to the door and present your till slip to the security guard. And he takes and scratches out as proof of seeing it. Now my fiance is pushing the trolly and he gets stopped and told that they have to search him, and he askes why and the security guy says because he wants too and also because he looks like a suspect. And they start arguing about it because he is causing a scene for everyone to hear. Now finally the other lady who I am assuming is from their surveillance camera goes and comes back and then says the manager wants to talk to him. So we both go, no one is saying anything and stand next some lady who I assume is the manager and she doesnt even pay attention to us, whilst we stand. And then the surveillance lady calls another lady to come and view a footage and they go. whilst we still stand there with nothing being said. And then she comes out and calls us. Requesting us to watch and we do. Shows my fiance turning his back on a camera and fixing his t-shirt, which to them loooked like he was *****ing and putting underneath his t-shirt. Whilst I am looking at him straight in his eyes.

Now what hurt me about this whole situation was the fact that he was just discharged from hospital, after having done a hernia repair on groin. And the only thing that was happening there was him fixing his pants because he cannot button up or use a belt due to the pain.

Now imagine how it feels when your man has to undress infront of other women. To prove himself and the worst part is that the so called manager was not even paying attention to us whilst standing there, she was just busy on the phone with her own things, until he shout. Yes I know it was a personal call becasue I was standing next to her

I understand them wanting to confirm what they think they saw but how is was done it was untasteful and belittlilng.

And the worst part is that we walked out of the shop with no apology or let alone the manager trying intervene. The only thing she kept on saying was that its an external supplier who is responsile for placing. But as a mananger she has the authority to act or do something.

And the worst part is when we walked out the securty guard kept on laughing because he didnt see anything wrong with what he did.
