Poor service

I bought a stk5z smartphone from shoprite the battery has packed up and cannot get one anywhere the phone is supp**** by 3g mobile to shoprite No one stocks spares No one can tell me where to buy a battery How can they supply a major retailer with merchandise and have no after sales support???
