Pay Back my Money

My mother visited Shoprite in Mitchells Plain to send money at the money market. As usual when sending money she is asked to punch in a pin of which she punched in 4 times and the transaction went though and she got the slip as proof. When my elderly father went to collect the money at a Shoprite in Butterworth he was told that the pin is wrong and was sent home with nothing, mind you he needed the money urgently and had no money for taxi fare to go back home. My mom today went back to the Shoprite to find out whats wrong, she was told to do an affidavit because she punched in a wrong pin and that she would get the money back in 2weeks. What I would like to know is why the money cant be paid back immediately? Why is it (if the pin was really wrong) that the transaction went through? Was she not supposed to get an error if the pin was wrong? From my understanding when you punch in and the pins are mismatched the transaction doesnt go through, Where did the money go? We are not willing to wait 2 weeks for our money and would like it back no later than the end of week. This is not acceptable. How are we supposed to trust Shoprite with our money if such things happen?
