PATHETIC CLIENT SERVICE

I went my local Shoprite in Chamdor as I am busy painting my house and I needed a few suppliers. I took the last 50mm paint brush from the shelved but only realized when I got to the till that it didn't have a bar code. The cashier then asked her colleague to go look for the price and before she could give an answer, she was called to do something else. With the cashier now stuck, she then asks me what am I going to do then seeing that they don't have a price(IMAGINE). So I politely tell her to refer the matter to her manager. From where I was standing I could see that this gentleman did not have the time of day and was not going to bother himself with my query. I hear her asking him the price of the brush and he randomly says R79.99. This lady comes back to me and tells me the price and I tell her that there is absolutely no way that the price could be that high. So I decide to employ myself for a few minutes and walk back to the Isle where i got the brush to go check the correct price. To my disbelief that brush costs R24.99. I go back to the cashier highly annoyed and ask her where did her manager get that price, she replies" don't look at me as if I gave you that price". I am highly disgusted by the lack of professionalism and sense of emergency showed by your employees when there is a customer in front of them. I am even more gutted by the level of poor service that your senior member showed. To think if I was those ******** customer and paid the R79.99 your store would have ****** my money and none of your employees would be bothered. We shop at these local shops because of the convenience it gives us but it no ways means that we don't know our consumer rights on how customers should be treated. I suggest that you give your senior staff members proper training on client service so that they can rely the knowledge to the junior staff. Such behavior is totally unacceptable.
