pansioners standing more than 2 hours for grants
I came here with my father to collect his passion fund from shoprite checkers in temba city.my father suffers from a heart problem, lungs and hip problem., but still customers are left to stand for more than 2 hours in a que without any official explaining what is the delay to the cause. I stand in a que of more than 20 pensioners complaining about air and their feet, this is really disappointing really.

On behalf of the Shoprite supermarket chain, I would like to apologise for your bad experience at Shoprite Temba.
Millions of consumers have become accustomed to being able to withdraw their grants at our outlets as part of a social service we offer to local communities. Grant recipients are able to make these withdrawals in our stores without incurring any transactional costs, which apply to ATM transactions that impacts on their already limited funds.
We have over the last year made numerous requests to the relevant authorities to spread out the SASSA payment dates over an entire month to alleviate the congestion that occurs at our stores on the first three days of each months. We realise it is affecting our service levels to our existing customers and we remain hopeful to have this issue resolved in the near future.
We however remain mindful of the needs of our ordinary customers in the meantime and as such will follow up with the Divisional Management to see how and where this process can be improved to ensure that all consumers are assisted in a timely and polite manner to the best of our abilities given the current situation on SASSA payout dates.
