Incident Report: Unprofessional Treatment by Security Personnel at Shoprite

Good day my name is Abbigail Venter I'm writing this message on behalf of my sister.

On May 9th, I Bernadette Terblanche was shopping at Shoprite when I was stopped by a security guard at the entrance. The guard requested to see my receipt, which I provided. I asked about the reason for this request and was informed that they had received a report of me shoplifting. Specifically, it was alleged that I had ****** two sachets of Jacob's coffee. I was so angry and told The security to proceed the search of my bags and handbag but he found nothing. Despite this, I was asked to accompany them to a room for further investigation, where I waited for approximately 30 minutes.i asked the security lady named Mamello Mavani what i have ******,she came so close upfront towards me,I was close to the wall,she then said now I must give her a change to talk.She and Shoprite manager reviewed CCTV footage, but could not find anything of me *****ing. As a respected member of the community with previous business experience, I was disappointed and upset by the manner in which I was treated. I called my sister to explain the situation, and she joined me at the store. We requested to view the CCTV footage, but were informed that we were not permitted to do so. The security personnel later acknowledged that a mistake had been made.I asked to Head offices contact details, whereby the Manager said he does not have the Head offices. contact details. The following day, we met with Shoprite manager, who clarified that the security personnel involved were employed by Civa Security Services company and this matter has nothing to do with Shoprite. He provided us with Civa's contact details and suggested that I reach out to them to report the incident.
