Ill-treatment by customers
I went to Shoprite Mini in Johannesburg (Commissioner Street, shop 6037) today, 2 October 2024, at 17:30 to withdraw a Capitec cashsend which I was going to use to purchase with. Upon standing in line for more than 15 minutes, I get to the cashier who rudely tells me that she doesn't have the money I need. I then ask where I should go. She then dismissively tells me to go to any till I want. So I carried my items and moved to the next till. Upon arriving to the next till, I explain to the new cashier what happened and she rudely tells me to go to the back of the line. I asked again, how so when I just came from table previous line. She tells me that I could have chosen any other till not hers unless the previous cashier directed me to her and spoke to her before hand. With frustration, I went to the managers office to seek assistance. No one paid attention to me as I was speaking, instead they just sat there laughing. Eventually, one men stands up and walks me to the last till with the cashier named Ncedile Ngcamu asking her to assist me. This particular cashier had the worst attitude because she tells me that she is only going to give me the cash send withdrawal and will not assist me with the purchase. How so, when the whole purpose of withdrawing was so that I can buy from the store as I do not have a bank card. I left the store very disappointed at the treatment I got from the employees. Such people should learn customer etiquette because that is not the way to treat customers. Or else, do not work in such an industry if you treat your customers badly.
