Humiliated in store
I am writing to inform you of the behavior of one of the managers in Shoprite Roodepoort, I didn’t get her name, she is a white lady I believe to be in charge, since I didn’t see the manager. I have a small business next to Shoprite and I go there every day to buy groceries and to give cashiers change. I sometimes generously pack groceries for clients. But today I was treated like I’m a thieve and was questioned what i was doing in store. Between 8:00 I went in store to give a cashier change like I always do and buy airtime and do a sim swop, so I started buy packing groceries for a client since there was no till packer and I was approached by a supervisor and “said the white is asking what I’m doing there”. I left but I needed to do a sim swop , so went back to a different counter(money market) and as I was on the queue this “white lady in question” come towards the door where I was, she was busy at the door and left. As she was going to the office, she asked another lady, I heard her saying “daardie man, wat wil hy hier hê” in a loud rude voice, in front of customers and in front of your staff. I was so embarrassed, and left humiliated in a shop I spend over R150 every day, every month. I’m very disappointed and heartbroken. I love shopping there, and most of your staff support my business and I know that this is a company that holds true to client wellbeing. As such, I trust that you will handle this matter amicably. I am looking forward to a positive response.
