Humiliated

<p>On Saturday the 28th of January 2017. I went to Shoprite Northam to go and withdraw money. I decided to get a 500ml of Granadilla Schwepps as I got to the till I realised I had forgotten my wallet in my car. I went to the car and as I passed the exit I handed the 50pml to the security gaurd at the door and told her I'll be back. I returned and asked her to give me the coldrink to pay for it. She refused and said she had already reported me to her supervisor. I just decided to walk away and go back to the till where I wanted to withdraw money. I took another coldrink out of the fridge next to the till and when it was my turn I paid for it and withdrew R500. As I'm about to leave the store the supervisor from from the security service CIVA risk management and the store supervisor came to me. I asked what the problem was they said I stole the coldrink. I tried to explain to them that I had no intention of *****ing the coldrink I just wanted to withdraw money. They told me it's either I pay for the coldrink I stole or they will arrest me. I refused to pay for another coldrink where as I've already bought one. The security lady grabbed me by the arm and told me to pay for it. I refused again and she started pushing violently towards the till the more I was trying to explain to her I didn't ***** the drink she kept yelling and pushing me. Telling me I'm a ***** and I stole it. She literally pulled me on my arm and forcefully took me to the back room. I had scatches on my left upper arm and on my back. When we go into the back room she kept on screaming at me. I decided to call my husband and the police. Cause I was scared of what the security lady would do to me next. I even called Shoprite customer services and an agent called Jaden answered. He promised to sort it out and call me back but he never did. Eventually my husband showed up and they didn't want me to see him. The security lady said that I'm a ******** and I don't deserve any special treatment and I will be treated like any other ********. After 15 minutes she came to the backroom with my husband and said I can go. My husband paid for the coldrink. I am very unhappy and disappointed in the treatment I received on Saturday. If this is the way shoprite allows their employees and security gaurds to treat customers, I really don't think it's the right store for me or my family. Please teach your employees how to handle and speak to customers. I'm hurt, humiliated and disappointed. I will never go to Shoprite ever again.</p>
