Hotplate warranty

I bought a two plate stove with R279 and I was advised that it has a one year warranty if it stops working I can bring it back to the shop with my receipt/slip and a box, but I when I sent it back the manger Anam Plata told be he can't take it back because of the elements are broken, they don't take it if the elements are broken

I told him that was not advised to me the time I bought the stove, and asked him were is that written he said there's a small book that comes with a box it's written there

I said great then you do have the book in the store obviously cause you still have more stove but refused to show me where it sates the warranty won't apply if "there's a b c d"

This means that shoprite is giving their customers false advertising, I won't be buying at shoprite anymore I'll take a walk to newbrighton spar instead

Worse part I can't lodge a complaint on their site there's a pop up message saying there's a error on their side
