Horrible customer service.
Dear Shoprite Head Office,
After visiting your Southfield store this afternoon (which we regularly shop at on a weekly basis) I am utterly shocked by the experience of customer service by both your branch manager and general staff. I had gotten a pie from your bakery section (chicken and mushroom) and half way through realized that the bottom half was uncooked and raw. I took it back to the bakery and politely told them that the pie was uncooked and that they should maybe check the rest Incase this were to happen to another customer. As I was paying, one of the bakery ladies stood with the pie in her hand and insisted that the pie was fine and that I MUST pay for it because half had been eaten. We asked to speak to the manager because your bakery staff were so rude.
The branch manager (***miah Rylands) approached me, and told me to come to her office and screamed at us that the pie was fine and she personally sees nothing wrong with it (I had to raise my voice to her to get my point across as she kept talking over me) but she still insisted that as the branch manager she was right and as the customer, I was wrong. After being spoken to like dirt, she proceeded to push us both out of her office (my sister and I) while the rest of the staff stood and spoke about us while we were still in your store. I have never been spoken to so badly by someone. I am aware the pie was half eaten but regardless it was not cooked correctly and someone would have gotten sick from eating one.
As people who work in the hospitality industry, we know what customer service is and this is NOT it. I strongly suggest you gain some control over this store as we will not be returning after shopping at this store for years. ***miah should perhaps have a role that doesn’t involve interacting with people as she is clearly incapable.
