I’m epileptic undergone a craniotomy brain surgery with 10% chance but pulled through- was shopping at checkers fish oil spillage with no signage nothing hence I walk and fell badly back head first cut my hands and bruised albow. Shirt and pants damaged. Paramedics was excellent however Center management security was cold RUDE and even to threatened to throw me out. Exact words I’ll escort u out and won’t be allowed in again. I’m utterly disgusted with the treatment I received from your store, total lack of empathy and respect for me as a person.

I undergone craniotomy brain surgery in 1993 resulting in my right side of body being considerably weaker. Furthermore I’m on chronic epilepsy tablets ever since meaning I have a disability.

Although no signage highlighting the fish oil spillage the way I was treated or lack of is inexcusable, question? Had it been a white person instead of me being Indian, would the situation been handled differently? Can’t understand why the atmosphere was so rude and cold, besides the paramedics nobody showed any concern instead I was being interrogated as if I spilled the oil and fell on my own. Pathetic

I do intend to take this further or even sue for damages as I’m in extreme pain, get severe headaches and my hands and back aches excruciatingly. I cannot function properly at work as the pain affects my performance.

This is ridiculous as I merely followed protocol from a gentleman who called Monday morning thereafter Hayley called and instructed me to send quotations exact words through with the given email address.

I’m in excruciating pain having severe headaches my back is stiff and hurts like crazy therefore my performance at work is compromised, furthermore I have massive cuts on my hand and presenting jewelry to customer is awkward as I lost confidence looking at my cut hands and cannot fulfill my daily routines. At night I can barely sleep as my back throbs.

Christopher Povie saw the damaged clothing with the labels which I have since discarded and Canal Walk Centre Management has an incident report.

As mentioned I am in the process of taking this further as the treatment I received was shocking no empathy and no respect for me as a person. I will be using other social media platforms to share my horrific experience and the shocking feedback I’m receiving as earlier a guy called Deon called very rude and abrupt and as I explained I was following what I was told by Haley, however he was disinterested so leaves me with the question why am I being treated differently?

I have all the pictures and relevant information. Will channel it through the right channels and prove the Checkers brand is definitely prejudiced based on the treatment I received and the horrific experience I must think about all the time and being a person of color and of having a disability, let the public decide I think. They have a right to be informed of the kinds of treatment they might expect from Checkers at the Canal Walk branch.
