***** at Shoprite Checkers

On Wednesday my mother used Money market at shoprite based at Market and Eloff Street in Joburg CBD. All went well on her way back she got a call from someone saying since they were offline can she change the REF that she was given, and she said no since she already sent it to the person that was supposed to withdraw the money.

On Thursday the person went to withdraw the money and was told, the money was received and withdrawn by my mother. I called Shoprite and explained the situation and was told to come today with my mom, ID and the receipt.

Today we went there and spoke to the manager who was unsympathetic to my moms situation and just swiftly explained that people hack their systems and there's nothing that can be done about it. He is not allowed to provide us with such info and we should go open a case. That didn't go down well with me, as I have few questions

Its their systems and are aware they are hacked but do not alert the public and what has been done with that?

How do outsiders get information such as Reference number and Pin?

How many people have lost money due to this hacking problem?

If one opens a case, will that person be refunded?

I have never been so disappointed with Shoprite Checkers. Im used to their unfriendly, bad attitude and chappie chewing cashiers but this is worse.
