Faulty Kettle at Shoprite not their problem

I have purchased a corded kettle from Shoprite store in Town Centre Mitchells Plain on 27 February 2018, not even 2 months later the kettle's element has split apart and it actually looked like a flame inside the boiling water when this happened. I then took the faulty kettle to the Shoprite store in Airport Mall shopping centre as this is close to my residence, and the manager advised me that this is not covered by the 12month factory warranty. This is really a shock to me as this item is basically still new and the most important part of a kettle is a element. This is really poor service of them as this is a Shoprite exclusive item, the "essentials" range that they have. I'm really disappointed in this and would like to notify others to also think before they do purchase this brand as the customer service afterwards stinks!
