Disappointed in Shoprite Medirite die issuing incorrect medication

<div>On the 26th June 2021 I went to Shoprite Medirite Cleary Park Port Elizabeth. I handed my script and only noticed when it was time to take my chronic medication that I did not recognise the medication issued. I returned to the store today 28 June 2021 to ask to please have my medication exchanges and corrected . Only to my dismay to be told sorry they cannot exchange medication. I was told the medication is the same it's just a generic of what I am supposed to receive. I left the store and went to enquire at another pharmacy as to what the exchange protocols are. I was told that if they made an error that they must exchange and issue me what is written on my script, I went back to Medirite where I asked to speak to the Pharmacy manager. She told me the same thing. I then asked her to please read out the name of the medication that is written on the script, which she did. Then I asked her was the said medication in store the day of issuing she said yes. I asked her so why was I given a generic. I was given a very vague answer. I then began to become irate. I asked for my script back she then told me by law she cannot exchange the medication but will give my script back with no cash refund. I asked her so how am I supposed to pay for my corrected medication at another pharmacy as I am uncomfortable taking meds I don't know or am fami**** with. She had that "it is what it is" attitude. I left very angrily the store, knowing the messed up and can't give what they feel is right for me. I am supposed to take my prescribed medication once a day whereby the medication I was given which is according to her the very same medication which happens to so be a tranquilizer and to be taken three times a day. I am so displeased that they could not help me as it was their mistake. So what if I take this medication become addicted or worse get more sick because of a generic that they felt to give me when the correct medication was in the pharmacy the day I took the script it?

So now I am saying...I will not take another Uber trio to the Pharmacy and was more money. I am expecting Medirite tot send my corrected medication as I am supposed to take my meds daily. Because of covid I will not step foot out my door. I have never in my life experienced such ********* practices and unprofessional....what if something worse happens to me if I should take this medication I'm not fami**** with?

Appalled and very disappointed in Shoprite Medirite. Who employee staff and authorises medication they feel is right and that is not stated on my medical script?</div>
