Customer assaulted by SHOPRITE staff

After participating in the Cape Peninsula marathon, my brother went to get items at Shoprite, Blue Downs and was assaulted by 4 security staff members and accused of *****ing. A supervisor on the scene later said the assumption that he stole was because he was a young Black male. It is sad that in 2022, a retailer that claims to be committed to enhancing diversity and inclusion allows staff members to treat customers like ********* SIMPLY ON THE BASIS OF THEIR RACE, AGE AND GENDER in the very communities that they serve.
