COMPLAINT REGARDING CONTAMINATED MAIZE MEAL PURCHASED AT SHOPRITE ROODEPOORT VAN WYK STREET FOR MY TODDLER😡😡😡

I would like to report a serious quality concern regarding a product purchased from Shoprite in Roodepoort Van Wyk Street branch.

Two weeks ago,I bought an ACE CREAM OF MAIZE maize meal, which I have been preparing for my 1 year old daughter. During the past week she experienced stomach pain and diarrhoea. At first I assumed it might be related to teething.

However tonight 21/02/2026 while cooking the maize meal, I noticed a yellow worm in the product. I immediately emptied the entire contents into a bucket and found 3 live worms inside the maize meal. This discovery is very concerning , as it suggests that my child may have been consuming contaminated food, which could explain her recent illness.

I am extremely disappointed, angry and concerned about the safety of the product being sold. The packaging indicates a best before date of 15/03/2026.

I request that this matter be investigated urgently and that appropriate action be taken.
