COMPLAINT.
On the 16th April 2024 at approximately 14:15-14:25 I had an incident where my new car that I purchased less than a month ago was bumped into at Sam Ntuli Mall by a gentleman employed by Shoprite / Mr Clean with a train of trolleys.
After shopping I was leaving the mall, I had to stop at a stop sign to check if it was clear for me to proceed to exit the mall, looking on my right hand side while I'm at the stop sign to my surprise Mr Dumisani Mchunu who is employed by the above mentioned company / companies lost control of the train of trolleys that he was pushing when jumping a speed hump that's where he bumped into my car with the trolleys.
How can 1 person expect to control a train of trolleys crossing a speed hump pushing them from the back with no assistance from a fellow colleague to ensure that all the trolleys are secured in the front so they do not split? PURE NEGLIGENCE!
I then went to the center manager to report the incident, they told me point blank that there is nothing they can do as the matter needs to be resolved by Shoprite.
Mr Mazibuko who is the branch manager for Shoprite Sam Ntuli was contacted to attend to the matter, he came through, went to the scene to inspect the damage, he then advised me to get a quotation on how much it will cost to have my car repaired.
I did so, I went to him in Shoprite on the 18th April 2024 to submit the quotation as per his request, he accepted the documents and advised me that he will be sending them to the relevant team that will be handling my case and advised that I will be contacted soon. I asked him on what the turnaround time is unfortunately he could not give me a definite answer to any of my questions his answers were and still is I DO NOT KNOW.
I went home and waited for days for any form of communication as I gave Mr Mazibuko my email and contact but nothing.
On the 23rd April 2024 I contacted Mr Mazibuko for a follow up, he ignored me no response from him whatsoever, on the 24th April 2024 I took it upon myself to go to Shoprite once again to speak with Mr Mazibuko to find out what's happening he was not available. I then sent him a text to follow up on my case, he just gave me a contact number saying I should contact Mr Clean's manager.
I indeed contacted the manager on the 25th April 2024 where he advise me that he is very much aware of my case, he will be having a meeting with I don't know who on the 26th April 2024 about the matter. He promised to contact me as soon as they are done with the meeting so he can advise on the way forward which never happened.
He also advised that I will need to draft a statement of the incident and submit to them which surprises me as there is a footage which serves as proof of what occurred, nonetheless I am more than willing to write a statement however no one is communicating with me or saying anything even though they have all my details.
I am very upset and highly disappointed in how my case is handled, if this incident happened to someone of a different ethnic group I'm a thousand percent sure communication lines and updates would be flowing daily and effortlessly.
I am currently at a point where by I am willing and going to post my case on all social media platforms as a cry for help, not only for myself but for anyone that will find themselves in the similar situation as mine.
If those trolleys did not bump into my car they could have caused damage to someone else's property or even bumped into a child causing serious harm or even death.
I am not willing or going to let this case go till my car is repaired.
