Complaint

I visited a Shoprite store in Southfield to purchase a few items. They had some specials and other items not. I purchased items that were special as they had great deals. All of those items that I purchased had prices, price special boards indicating the special price. Cakes were being sold at a normal price of R39.99 on the shelf with a price tag. However was on my way out just before I paid, I saw some more cakes displayed on a different table in front of tellers, near other items on special. However, these cakes had no price tags on them but yet looked as if they are being sold at a special price. This got me interested in purchasing them, however, there were no price tags on them or on the table on which they were placed. I questioned this with the staff and supervisor as this was misleading and not clear. I later spoke to the store manager who apologize to the staff member who didn't place the price tags after he came back with a ridiculously overpriced cake price. After which I clearly explained the following as it was unacceptable for a price tag to now come out of nowhere e.g. R79.99 According to my consumer right: Consumer Right No.6 Right to fair and honest dealing NB!!! This was a very dishonest experience from Shoprite Southfield, Cape Town. And something should be done about this.
