Be careful when you shop at Checkers, it is not safe. You might be injured like me.

It is not save to shop at Checkers!! I had an incident on the 8 th of October 2023, on a Sunday, before 12:00. Doing my normal shopping with a witness, on my right hand side. I didn’t visit this Checkers in about 6 years, plus minus. All of a sudden, a employee of Checkers came running from the front, with an empty trolley. Rushing. He hit me on my left anckle with the trolley, is was with immediate pain and discomfort. We had to stop, as i said Eina, didn’t expect this at all, the gentleman just screamed sorry and ran further. No blood. Only scratches. But again, immediate pain. I thought let me just get this shopping done and head for home, painkillers. By Tuesday am, I couldn’t walk on my left foot, had to hop where i had to go. The next Wednesday, still in terrible pain, loosing clients, fever building up, i went to them and reported the case with Ada. I also wrote a 2 page avvidavit with her, waiting for me to see the footage. After a while, i was informed by Ada that i am not allowed to go and check out the footage myself, as they were still looking for it? I was feeling sceptical, as i wondered if they won’t the footage off? So, i left with the understanding that Checkers would call me. Nobody called. In the mean time, i lived and still on anti flammotory and painkillers and an ointment and bandages every day on my account. In November, i called them, asked to speak to a manager, Collin, apparently there was a miscommunication between Ada and Collin. He called me back, and he said to me they can’t find the footage, as apparently the cameras rotate or something the whole time. I went to the doctor and xray’s, inflammation was picked up. I am not in a position to help clients and to go and see them. I don’t work for a company. I work with the trade, vehicles. Needless to say, i had to source out my clients and nothing paid out? I am asking for compensation. As the Doctor said to me my foot must rest the whole December. With the right medication. Script, no medical aid. I went to church Sunday, I didn’t drive, but i had to walk on my left foot to get seated. As i got home, again, terrible swelling, which i did send to Lizelle at Checkers Cape Town i think? Since Monday, their laywers emails me, apparently he will call me tomorrow? To say what? I already lost an income October, November and December now too. Days got weeks and turned into months now, with me still suffering. How are they going to compensate me? Will my foot / anckle be better in January 2024? As they are taking there time. I didn’t cause the accident, it was due to them, running into me. I have a lot of people who sees my ancle and the swelling. Asking me the whole time what is Checkers doing about this?
