Bag ****** from baggage counter with NO accountability

<p>Our gardener Mr Cliford Mdlankomo went into Middestad Belleville Shoprite to get some food. As instructed he left his backpack at the parcel counter and received his numbered docket. After shopping he went to collect his backpack which had been given to another shopper. The other bag was still there and he was told to come back the next day as they were sure it would be returned as clearly a simple mistake had occurred. This was on the 18th August. He went back the next day and his bag hadn't been returned. He was then told to go and sign an affidavit at the Police station confirming contents of this backpack. Which he did. He was then asked to produce proof of purchase for the items which was Shoes and said backpack and face cloth, soap all items that he uses after working. He went to Pep for the Shoes which he'd bought with his bonus in Dec and they couldn't give him a receipt or copy of one. However he got the current price R299. The full total of his losses comes to under R1000. This includes his ID book, Keys to our property and Radio and rest mentioned above. A month has gone by and still he hasn't been reimbursed. I've spoken to Marie Hendriks at the Store and she's informed me that they've sent the application to the Insurance company. Who as we know won't pay without proof of purchase. He only works in Belleville every alternate Thurs and so tries to resolve this after work. Come on SHOPRITE, I know and you know that you have a store discretionary budget. This could've been resolved a month ago. YOUR staff made the MISTAKE. Mr Ndlankomo has done nothing wrong and as he says to me is the real LOSER in all of this. Please do what is right!!!</p>
