BAD SERVICE

Good day to who it may concern

I took time out of my work to address a concern that was poorly handled.

On 28 March 2026 (Saturday) me and my pregnant wife was at one of your branches located at Shoprite in Westridge to grab a few items which included 6 sparkling 1.5L waters and a few other items as well to say the least, we parked very to the the entrance as like I mentioned my wife is pregnant and walking takes a lot of strain on her feet,as we exited we had a trolley with all our items in it,we were told at the entrance we must carry out items as we NOT ALLOWED to utilise the trolley in which we used to purchase items in the store with ,which makes no sense at all,we were told to use a bigger sized trolley ,so we transfered all our items to the bigger trolley just to be TOLD that we not allowed to use any trolley and we must carry our items instead, I questioned this POLICY and was swiftly told nothing can be done, I didn't want to put strain on my pregnant wife and we had to carry all those heavy bags and loose 1.5L bottles as well which you could imagine is extremely heavy to a women that's pregnant! We never the less had to carry them as there was no other option,we got outside and my wife dropped a few bottles that broke as it was to heavy to carry, this is very poor management,I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in the service I received from Shoprite! To Let a pregnant lady carry heavy items as there was no signs that state the trolleys could be used outside the store to the parking lot! Especially since the items was purchased in that particular store! I've never been in a supermarket/store/branch or any Shoprite were I was not allowed to utilise the trolleys with in the reasonable structure (parking lot) I am extremely disappointed,that such unnecessary strain was put on my pregnant wife to carry such heavy bags!!

I am extremely disappointed and unhappy with SHOPRITE and there poor services and have never came across such bad services before!
