Appalling Service

Good day

On the afternoon of the 17.03.2018 I went to Shoprite in Palmsprings Mall in the Vaal with my husband, to collect money that was sent via your money market service and to my shock horror outrage the service I received was appalling. At around 15:47 I was assisted by a cashier by the name of Maki, she followed protocol by requested the M number and ID, she lastly asked me who sent the money, to which I rep**** with the name of the person however she did not grant me the chance to even finish the name of the individual that sent the money.

I then called a friend to confirm if I had the correct names, she then confirmed with a text I then went back to the till to provide the names as per the text I received. When I got to the till she said that I should wait as she no longer had money in the till I then went to another till once there was another available cashier (Joyce), she also followed protocol and requested the names of the person that sent the money and to my surprise she confirmed that the names were indeed correct and reflecting on her monitor.

I requested that she calls the previous cashier (Maki) that and the manager to relate the story as I was upset that my time was wasted due to incompetence, bad attitude and disrespect. Maki came and made an uproar throwing tantrums even before her manager came, when the manager finally came he asked me what had happened and as I was relating the story she continued making noise never showing any respect what so ever, The manager never really took control of the situation by disciplining Maki as he just kept on apologising to me to which I do not understand as I was expecting Maki to apologies, the manager did not resolve the issue at hand. The cashier who was assisted me was so professional and told Maki and I quote “ apologise to the customer” and Maki responded that she will not apologies and I quote “ apologies for what”, at this point the store was on a stand still as she made a huge scene, screaming and throwing hands. She refused up until I left and as I walked away she was laughing forgetting that she is an ambassador for Shoprite further the manger still did not take any action.

I feel that it is within my right to escalate this matter and bring it to your attention of the abuse and disrespect which I have received from Maki in the presence of her manager, Maki is unprofessional and this is not the last platform as going to expose this terrible service on social media, I will not take such abuse and disrespect from another individual. I am still shaken by my experience at Shoprite Palmsprings Mall
