APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE AT SHOPRITE

<p>Hello Peter,</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>On the 29th day of September 2016, I went to Shoprite in Oxford Street, East London to purchase Mageu and an energy drink for my sickly boss.</p> <p> </p> <p>Once there, I realised that only three tills were operating including the express till and they all had long queues with people having packed trolleys with groceries as it was month end.</p> <p> </p> <p>I was then advised by one of the cashiers to utilise the express till as I only had two items. When I went to the express till, the cashier whose name is Siphokazi Vuso with employee no. ********** 1 told me and other customers who had less than 5 items that her till is closed.</p> <p> </p> <p>The manner in which she spoke to me as a customer was shocking, she was very rude, she even said to other cashiers that she wonders why I am wasting my time by standing in that queue because she wont assist me and the customers behind me as her till is closed, she said “You will scan your items yourself”.</p> <p> </p> <p>I then went to the Manager on duty that made available other tills but this particular cashier was still discourteous to me as a customer at Shoprite not mindful of the fact that in town there are many shops that one can make use of but because of the lowest prices offered at Shoprite, we chose Shoprite.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have never been treated with such impoliteness at any retail store, not to mention how loud, arrogant and defiant this cashier was and when it was my turn to pay she made it crystal clear to me that she wont assist and her reason for closing her till with a long queue of customers still waiting to be served was that she had to pee.</p> <p> </p> <p>I am very appalled by the customer service I received at Shoprite because one can only wonder if these cashiers pass their customer service courses that Shoprite spends money on.</p> <p> </p> <p>Such remissness on the part of Siphokazi Vuso brings Shoprite’s name into disrepute.</p> <p> </p> <p>Kindly assist in ensuring that such demeanour never happens at our favourite store again.</p> <p> </p> <p>Regards,</p> <p> </p> <p>Siphosethu Mancunga</p> <p> ********** 508</p> <p> </p>
