Abused by Shoprite Centurion Mall.

Me and my family were abused by Shoprite Centurion Mall Security and Staff on Saturday the 11th of May 2024. I went to the store with my wife and kids to buy a toy for my Son, then while busy doing shopping my wife and daughter decided to buy 2 x Powerade drinks which they put inside the trolley. However they forgot to pay the drinks at the till and when we get to the door, the security officer told us we do not have the slip for the drinks, we politely told her that we forgot to pay but we are willing to go back and pay for the drinks, to my surprise a senior security officer was called for us and we were told we stole the drinks, despite us not refusing to pay, we were kept in the store for almost 30 minutes. The manager on duty came and we explained our story to her, although she ended up allowing us to pay, but her response was still showing doubts. I was very much disappointed by how this matter was handled because we did not refuse to pay and we were honest enough to accept that the drinks were ours, and we don't mind paying. We are very loyal customers to Shoprite and that can be proven by the amount of Money on our XTRA Savings card.
