15 Hour Shifts-no overtime

I am a concerned parent. My son is with Checkers. Last week he worked late shift which was from 8am till 22h00. 14 Hr Shift. This week he is supposed to be on early shift, but he goes to work 07h00am and works till 21h00. Then during the night he is called out 3 times because of alarms going off. I am trying to find out what if this is legal. Surely these people are going to be burnt out in no time? I can't find contact details for Checkers Human resources to address the problem and are thinking of trying to contact the Ombudsman. My child is the only white face on his management team. Are they trying to work him out by breaking him so that they can promote one of their mates? How the hell is this legal???? I would like to get Mr Basson to answer this for me.
